2019 Kentucky fair dates set

Versailles, KY — The Kentucky fair season will once again kick off in 2019 with the Purchase District Fair held in Mayfield. This will take place on June 6 with a post time of 5 p.m. (CDT).

The next two fairs will also take place in the western end of Kentucky. LaCenter will host the Ballard County Fair on June 13 at 4 p.m. (CDT) and Paducah will host the McCracken County Fair June 24, 6 p.m. (CDT).

The following three fairs will be held at Marion County Fairgrounds in Lebanon, Ky. The Marion County Fair is to be on July 2 with a first post of 6 p.m. (EDT), the Washington County Fair on July 12 with a post time of 5 p.m. (EDT), and the Woodford County Fair will be on July 19 at 5 p.m. (EDT).

The last fair to earn points for the final will be The Mercer County Fair held at Red Mile on July 26 with a post time of 4 p.m. (EDT). The fair finals will be held Aug. 3 at Red Mile in conjunction with their overnight card.

To be eligible for staking, each colt or filly must either be sired by a stallion registered with the Kentucky Standardbred Development Fund or must be ‘Kentucky Bred’ (dam of foal resided in Kentucky for 180 days year of conception and her eligibility form sent to KHRC).

Nomination payments must be postmarked no later than Feb. 15. The sustaining payment must be postmarked no later than April 15. Click here for a nomination form.
