$500 cash prize in free USHWA contest

Coral Springs, FL –– The United States Harness Writers Association has teamed up with some of the leading horse people and organizations in the harness racing industry to coordinate and conduct the USHWA/Scott Alberg monthly harness racing handicapping contests on Facebook.

The next contest, which is this Friday (July 2) — the MGM Grand Messenger Stake at Yonkers Raceway — will feature new prizes. Starting with Friday’s contest, the overall first place prize winner will receive $500 cash and there will also be second and third place special prizes.

The sponsor of the $500 first place cash prize this Friday is the Scott Di Domenico Stable. Scott was the first sponsor to come on board and was excited to be sponsoring the first $500 cash prize on Messenger-Yonkers Trot Night.

The contest will start once the race card is declared official by the judges and contestants can enter free of charge. All you have to do is select the correct official winning horse in the race, either by their starting post position number or by the name of the horse.

If more than three correct answers are submitted, then a drawing will take place with all the correct winners and the first three names drawn will win the three prizes.

Current USHWA members are not allowed to enter the contest.

To enter the contest, fans must go to Scott Alberg’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/scott.alberg.3, where the contest will be prominently displayed. Alberg, as he has done in the past, will run the contests. All contest winners will have their name posted after the event and the ranking they finished in from the prize drawings.

USHWA will also be promoting the monthly contests not only on Facebook, but with press releases and via Twitter and Instagram.

The prize drawings for the winners will take place Saturday (July 3) at noon with a live presentation on the USHWA Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/USHarnessWriters/.
