by Dustin Ross, regional racing operations manager, Tioga Downs

Nichols, NY — Aisling and Jimmy Marohn, Jr. established a new track record for a 4-year-old trotting stallion on Friday night (June 20) at Tioga Downs in the second division of the Royal Motors Trotting Series. The mile of 1:55.4 erased the mark set earlier this year by Manfinity and David Miller.

Aisling is a son of Conway Hall who is owned by Little E LLC. It was the second win in five seasonal starts for Aisling, who has now banked over $18,000 in 2008. He won by 1-1/4 lengths over Captain Primeau and Howard Parker, while Springboard and Tony Schadel hung on for third.

Like A Breeze and Corey Braden scored in the first division of the Royal Motors Trotting Series in 1:57.3. The 4-year-old Like A Prayer gelding was sent out from post position five by Braden and never looked back en route to his fourth victory of the year for trainer Nick Giberson. Like A Breeze is owned by L&L Devisser LLC and thus far in 2008 has banked over $32,000. It was a head back to Anthony Simpson and Henrytheeighthiam in second, while Cinderella’s Champ and Kyle DiBenedetto rounded out the trifecta.

Golden Falcon N took down her second straight Fillies and Mares Open Pace for Corey Braden and trainer Paul Bernardo. The 9-year-old Falcon Seelster mare scored in 1:53.2 for her ninth victory in 21 starts this year and increased her seasonal earnings to more than $57,000. It was Jimmy Marohn, Jr. and Pantomimist in second, while Alexi Killean and Joe Anderson rounded out the trifecta.

Howard Parker, Corey Braden, and Bruce Clarke each posted driving doubles on Friday night’s 11-race card.
