All Champy catches Rock Of Cashel at Harrah’s Philadelphia

Chester, PA — Over a track that has not been kind to closers lately, the $14,500 featured trot on Thursday afternoon (July 11) at Harrah’s Philadelphia narrowed down to a pair of stretch chargers, with All Champy reaching in the final strides to beat Rock Of Cashel by a neck in 1:53.3.

Rock Of Cashel (David Miller) was second-over and All Champy (Dexter Dunn) third-over behind the first-up Casa Palmera, who advanced to battle pacesetter Inner Peace after fractions of :27.3 and :56.3. The front-end duel continued past the 1:24.4 three-quarters and through the turn, with Rock Of Cashel swinging wide and All Champy wider yet as they headed to the stretch.

Rock Of Cashel made the lead at the top of the stretch, but All Champy earned his seventh seasonal win while boosting his yearly bankroll to $118,905. William Wyatt trains the Explosive Matter gelding for owners Howard and Joshua Kauffman.

In a $14,000 trotting co-feature, favorite Yankees Beast broke stride at the quarter and the pacesetting second choice Mystical Wynn lost his gait going around the far turn. Meanwhile, Dawn Of Glory kept her composure from the pocket, inherited the lead nearing head-stretch, and prevailed over Fanatic by 1-3/4 lengths in 1:57. Andy Miller drove the Cantab Hall filly for trainer Julie Miller and the ownership of Red Wall Stables LLC and Andy Miller Stable Inc.
