Allan Davis wins three at Rosecroft

Ft. Washington, MD — Last Wednesday night, Eddie Davis Jr., stole the show with six wins on the Rosecroft Raceway card. Sunday night (Oct. 4), his brother Allan took the spotlight with three wins on the Rosecroft card.

Davis lit up the toteboard in race six, guiding Maurice from off the pace to score in a lifetime best 1:53 for Green Valley Training and trainer Thomas Armour. Davis followed it up in race seven with Beammeupscottie for owner-trainer Brian Callahan who scored first over in 1:54.2. It gave the 10-year-old Rustler Hanover gelding his 35th lifetime win. Davis finished off his hat trick with another classy veteran, as Whosurpapa scored win number 49 in his 303rd start. The son of Whosurboy is trainer by Michael Hall for William MacMillan.

Precision Bluechip has been spectacular in the Courtney Brooks barn. Sunday night the 5-year old Bettor’s Delight gelding used a pocket trip to save ground and edge past pacesetter Romantic Interest by literally inches to secure a lifetime best win in 1:51.3 in the $12,500 Maryland Open.

It was the second win of the night for John Wagner who also steered Jerry Nock’s Sams Triple Crown to a score in 1:52.1. It was a training double for Nock as Justin Vincent rallied Rusty’s Houdini from the back to win in 1:53.4 for owner-breeder Andrew Scheller.

Victor Kirby scored a pair of wins, as the 2-year old Transparency, a homebred for owner Thomas Cooke, rallied to win a four horse photo making him 2-2 on the year. The Artspeak colt closed in :27.4 to win in 1:55.3. Kirby won the finale with B A Rocket in a lifetime best 1:53.1 for trainer Greg Trotto, Fred Sporrer, Jon Reedy and VIP Internet Stable.

Stonebridge Surf continued his impressive form, winning for the third time in five starts in a lifetime best 1:52 for driver Jared Moyer and trainer Clyde Oglesby Jr.

In an early Maryland Sire Stakes non-wagering event, Judge Bob and Jonathan Roberts held off a late charge from What That Is to secure the win in the $20,400 division for 4- and 5-year-old trotters. The son of Great George Two is owned by trainer Megan Roberts and Graham Grace Stables.
