American Delight N wins Tioga Downs feature

Nichols, NY – American Delight N (Braxten Boyd) took the featured $9,000 Fillies & Mares Open II Pace at Tioga Downs on Friday (Sept. 24).

American Delight N ($4.10) went to the front and led to the first quarter in :27.2. She used a :29.1 second quarter to hit the half first in :56.3. No Where To Hide (Mike Simons) was the first to make a move going first-over heading to the final turn. American Delight N was first to three-quarters in 1:25.

As they made the turn for home, No Where To Hide kept coming as Shecouldbegood N (Mike Merton) came flying three-wide. American Delight N dug in and won in 1:53. Shecouldbegood N finished second as Vicious Circle (Wally Hennessey) took third money.

American Delight N is a 6-year-old mare by Bettor’s Delight. She is owned by Joel Warner and trainer Mike Deters. It was her fifth win of the season. She has 15 career victories.

Braxten Boyd drove three winners on the card as Patti Harmon trained three winners on the night.

Boyd got his other wins with Another Beach Day ($4.30), and Gemalous ($5.70). Harmon got her wins with Festive Joe ($6.40), MV OK Palacio BR ($7.80), and Nancy Bar ($3.80).

Longtime fan favorite, Aruba Vacation (Joe Chindano) won in his final start at Tioga. The 14-year-old gelding by Dream Vacation is owned and trained by Guy Howard. He won for the 47th time in his career. He has earned nearly $650,000 lifetime.

Tioga Downs returns to live racing on Saturday (Sept.25). It is closing night for 2021 with a 10-race card starting at 6:15 p.m.
