Columbus, OH — Harnessracing.com is reporting that Steve Cross, who has been announcing races at Harrah’s Hoosier Park since 1998, will not be returning to the announcer’s booth when the 2021 meet gets underway on Friday (March 26).

Harrah’s Hoosier Park is scheduled to race 160 nights this year through Dec. 4. After racing four nights a week initially, Sundays will be added beginning on May 23 through the end of September. Cross said having a drive of more than two hours each way from his home in Middlebury, Ind., to Anderson, was starting to take a toll, and he decided the addition of a fifth night was too much.
