Arch Madness came charging down the middle of the racetrack to win the Allerage Farms Open Trot final.

Owned by Marc Goldberg and Willow Pond LLC, the 9-year-old Balanced Image-Armbro Archer gelding won for the third time in 15 starts this year, while increasing his 2013 bankroll to $300,927. Trainer Trond Smedshammer was in the bike as Arch Madness won for the 34th time in his brilliant career and lifted his career bankroll to $4,020,631.

Quick Deal and Brian Sears got the first call and led the field past the first quarter in :27.1 and the half in :55. Sevruga and Andy Miller came calling past the half and they were first over and the new leaders past the three-quarter pole in 1:24.

Arch Madness followed Sevruga’s cover and came trotting hard down the stretch, eventually taking over the lead, then holding off a fast closing Mister Herbie at the wire for a neck victory. Market Share finished third.

Despite winning the Allerage elimination last week and equaling his own world record for an older trotting gelding on a mile track (1:50.2) in the process, Arch Madness paid $15.00 to win in the final.

Maven nipped Check Me Out at the wire to win the Allerage Mare Trot in 1:52.3.

The daughter of Glidemaster-M Stewart is trained by Jonas Czernyson and was driven to victory by Yannick Gingras. The victory was Maven’s eighth in just 11 trips to the post and improved her 2013 earnings to $327,720. She paid $3.20 to win.

Check Me Out and Tim Tetrick powered to the front from post seven and were on top at the :27.4 opening quarter with Real Babe second and Maven third.

There was no change among the leaders at the :55 half-mile marker, but Maven pulled to the outside and engaged Check Me Out at the 1:23.3 three-quarter pole.

Check Me Out was still trotting strongly in the stretch and Maven began to drift out in her attempt to collar the leader, but in the final strides Maven’s nose hit the wire first in 1:52.3.

Check Me Out was second, a neck behind the winner, and Bax Of Life wound up third.
