Bold Eagle set for possible historic run at Vincennes

Vincennes, FR — French trotting star Bold Eagle with Björn Goop in the bike might write French harness racing history Sunday (June 23) afternoon at Vincennes, where he can win the Group 1-race, Prix Rene Balliere for a fourth consecutive time.

Prix Rene Balliere is raced over “the sprint distance” at Vincennes – 1-5/16 mile and 13 trotters are entered in the race, which has a total purse of $195,000 dollars.

Bold Eagle, who has drawn post position one, is favored to win the historic race, but he will face tough horses like the winner of the Elitlopp, Dijon with Romain Derieux and Looking Superb with Jean Michel Bazire, who finished second in the Prix d’Amerique.

It will be a great day at Vincennes, where a total of $1.15 million is up for grabs in eight trotting races.

The main event is the under saddle-race, The Prix du President de la Republique for 4-year-olds.

The distance is 1-3/4 mile and the total purse is $225,000.

Fado du Chene with P. Ph. Ploquin is favored to win.
