Bramalea Hanover scored in 1:56 in the C$60,000 final on Monday at Woodbine.

The daughter of Windsong’s Legacy-Bramasole got away third in the early going but as soon as things settled up front, she blasted to command just past the first quarter of :27.4. From there, she cruised through splits of :58 and 1:28 before turning on the jets with a :28 final frame to score by five lengths.

Highland Strikes came out late in the stretch to nip Sleek Agent for the place spot. The winner returned a paltry $2.30 as the prohibitive top choice in the wagering.

“Last week, she (Bramalea Hanover) impressed me a lot and tonight I thought it would be a little more of a tussle out there,” said Condren. “There really wasn’t much of a threat and I moved her to the front and she got a lot of respect — which I think she deserves and she busted home pretty nice.”

“Right now, I’d say yes,” said Condren, in reference to the filly’s ability to take on North America’s best this year. “When she gets in against the top fillies in North America, which I’m sure she’s going to head that way, I’m sure she’ll hold her own and be very competitive.”

Bramalea Hanover has now won five straight and seven of eight starts this season for trainer Bob McIntosh and owner Susan Grange. The lion’s share of the purse bumped her seasonal earnings to just over C$68,000.
