Brown wins four at The Meadows, including feature with Something Reel

Washington, PA — Something Reel followed live cover down the backside and raced gamely through the lane to pull off a 9-1 upset in Wednesday’s (June 23) feature at The Meadows, a $10,300 Filly & Mare conditioned pace.

Something Reel prevailed in 1:52.2. Chris Gooden photo.

Once Something Reel shed her cover and grabbed the lead, she was under pressure inside and outside. But Brady Brown kept the 5-year-old daughter of Westwardho Hanover-I’m A Reelist to her task, and she prevailed in 1:52.2. Dorothy’s Legacy was second, a head back, with Royaltywestho third.

Brandon Presto trains Something Reel, who extended her career bankroll to $142,284 for Larry Parlin. It was one of four wins on the 13-race card for Brown.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday, when the 13-race program features a $1,032.66 carryover in the Pick-5 (race eight). First post is 12:45 p.m.
