Busy night in the Signature Series

Celina, OH — Two fairs and two Signature Series races highlighted Wednesday night’s (August 1) racing.

At the Greene County Fair in Xenia it was the Ray Henley Memorial Trot and two divisions were contested. The other Signature Series event was the Moon City Pace at the Auglaize County Fair in Wapakoneta.

In the first division of the Ray Henley Memorial Trot, SS Trot leader De Niro G notched his fourth straight Signature Series win for owner-driver Dein Spriggs in a time of 2:01 to nip Mac Port. De Niro G leads second place My Victory Song by 16 points in the championship points.

In the second division of the Ray Henley Memorial Trot, Callico Cat took with the win with driver Dein Spriggs for owners Elaine, Michael and Paul Gabriel in a time of 2:01.3. For Spriggs he swept the night as the winning driver in both races.

At Wapakoneta in the Moon City Pace, Torpedo Joe won his third straight Signature Series event for Chad Peter and owner James Shull in a time of 2:00.4 over the The Warload. With the win, Torpedo Joe now leads three-time SS Pace Champ Tattler’s Jet by three points. The Jet did not race at Wapak.

On Thursday night (August 2) at the Greene County Fair, it will be the pacers’ chance on the track as they race for the Steve Phillips Memorial Pace.
