Cash Me Out captures Saratoga feature

Saratoga Springs, NY — Cash Me Out (Cash Hall) dominated the action among the track’s top trotters this winter and into the spring at Saratoga Casino Hotel. The veteran Kyle Spagnola trainee won the local Open Trot three times in the first five installments of it in 2019.

The millionaire trotter later fell into a little Open drought, but still came into Wednesday’s (July 10) try in the $15,000 feature with five wins on the season.

Phil Fluet piloted Cash Me Out on Wednesday and powered the 8-year-old out to the early lead. After clicking off a fast first quarter in :27.4, Cash Me Out got a bit of a breather, reaching the half in :57.3 before being confronted past the half by the race’s 4-5 betting favorite and three-time defending Open winner Mugshots Bro (Jimmy Devaux).

Cash Me Out rebuffed that one and drew away in the stretch to score in 1:54.3 for a new seasonal mark. The win was the 43rd in the career of the veteran trotter in 180 lifetime starts.

Longshot Cartier Volo (Frank Coppola Jr.) hit the board for the fourth consecutive time in the Open as she came on to finish second while Mugshots Bro had to settle for third on the warm Wednesday afternoon in the Spa City.

Cash Me Out paid $11.60 to win in the mild upset. The exacta returned $62 while the triple came back $163.50 in the six-horse feature.

Live racing continues on Thursday night with a 7:05 p.m. first post time.
