CFHRA looking to promote harness racing at county fairs
October 2, 2005,by Dave Schmidt, County Fair Harness Racing Alliance
Celina, OH — The County Fair Harness Racing Alliance will be looking to promote harness racing at county fairs in the United States.
The CFHRA will work to unite fairs across the country by developing programs that will enhance harness racing at the county fair level on a national plan. These programs will highlight the horses and drivers that participate at county fairs. Marketing of county fair harness racing will be a key to helping the CFHRA help local fairs. We want county fair harness racing to survive and we know it can, but we want to work with you to make it work.
We are hoping to have at least one representative from every state that features county fair harness racing be a part of this effort. Please contact us if you are interested at daveschmidt@insightbb.com.
We have set up a web site to help develop the CFHRA by giving you a place to gather information.
We also hope to develop regular email updates on county fair racing.
The USTA has been great in helping promote county fair harness racing and they have also developed a site which is great: http://fairs.ustrotting.com/. We want to work with everyone that is interested in promoting county fair racing.
We will also hope to develop naming Horses of the Year at different levels, Driver of the Year, Trainer of the Year, fastest times in the trot and pace, etc.
