Charles E. Stevens, 69, dies

Columbus, OH — Charles E. Stevens, 69, of Washington Court House, Ohio, died June 10, 2021, at his residence.

He was born April 6, 1952, to the late Forrest and Minnie Thompson Stevens in Washington Court House.

He was a lifelong auto salesman, known as “the round man with the square deal,” starting his career on Oct. 1, 1975 and was the sales manager for Stevens Auto Sales.

Mr. Stevens was a very active member of numerous lodges and churches in Fayette County throughout the years, a current member of The Gathering Place, former member of Crossroads Christian Church, former deacon and elder of First Presbyterian Church, Ohio Army National Guard, and Elks Lodge #129.

He was a past member F&AM #107, was raised on Feb. 6, 1995 with the Scottish Rite Masons Valley of Columbus, York Rite, Alladin Temple, a past president and membership chairman of the Washington Shrine Club, Fayette County Agriculture Society Director, Fayette County Fair Board, OHHA, USTA and Fayette County Harness Horsemen’s Association.

He is survived by his son, Chad (Crystal); grandchildren, Cole and Madison Sell; sister, Mary Lou (George) Dalton; nieces, Michelle (Randy) Barrer and Brooke Conover; nephew, Joseph (Lauri) Kingery; and longtime love, Wanda Stevens.

His family will receive guests on Tuesday (June 15) from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at The Gathering Place with services held immediately after with John Pfeifer officiating. The burial will then be in the Highland Memory Garden. Friends and family may call at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services. There will be an additional service held at Elks Lodge #129 on Monday (June 14) beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Shrine Club.
