Charlie May to appear at Greenville (Ohio), will not race

Greenville, OH — The connections of Charlie May have notified the race office at the Great Darke County Fair, in Greenville, Ohio, that they have decided to err on the side of caution and not enter the world champion 3-year-old gelding in this Thursday’s (Aug. 26) Parshall Memorial Pace.

Charlie May is still expected to ship to Greenville, and he will parade one of the divisions of the 2-year-old Parshall Memorial Pace. This will allow him more time to get ready for his upcoming Ohio Sires Stakes final on Sept. 5.

Racing at the Great Darke County Fair continues Thursday (Aug. 26) with a 6:30 p.m. post time. The entry box closes on Monday (Aug. 23) at 10 a.m. for the Gene Riegle Memorial Pace, the Arnie Almahurst Trot, all splits of the Parshall Memorial Open, the Spring Haven Ladies Pace, and the Great Lakes Amateur Trot.
