Color Envy takes Plainridge feature

Plainville, MA — After two sharp, close finishes at Yonkers Raceway in her most recent starts, Color Envy returned to Plainridge Park and captured the $12,000 featured pace for fillies and mares on Thursday afternoon (Oct. 10).

Color Envy (Mitchell Cushing) got away sixth in the pack of nine off the gate, but was out and rolling before the half to pick up cover from Y C Easy (Kevin Switzer Jr.) into the backstretch. When that cover stalled approaching the three-quarters, Color Envy tipped three-deep and continued to make up ground on the front-pacing Avery Seelster (John Nason). By the top of the stretch, Color Envy was only a length off and drew even with the leader quickly before drawing away by a length to win in 1:54.

Color Envy ($2.20) is owned by William Hart and trained by Lance Hudson.

Cushing led all drivers on Thursday, winning three races.

Live racing resumes at Plainridge Park on Friday (Oct. 11) at 2 p.m.
