Colt sired by Bold Eagle tops Danish yearling sale

Godfather, a colt sired by Bold Eagle and out of Red Rose America was sold at the Danish Selected Sale for $165,000, which is a new Danish record.

Godfather was the most expensive yearling ever sold in Denmark. Kjeld Mikkelsen photo.

The former record at $104,000 was paid for a filly, sired by Chapter Seven in 2017.

Also Kronos, a colt sired by Father Patrick, reached a higher price than the former record, as he was sold for $133,000.

However, the record is still held by the same buyer, the Swedish SRF Stable, who bought Godfather as well as CR Kronos.

The average price of $26,800 was also an all-time high in Denmark. The former record dated back to 2007 and was $12,700.
