Batavia, NY — The official condition sheet for the first week of live racing at Batavia Downs Casino is now available at several locations including www.bataviadownscasino.com. The 2012 season gets underway on July 23.
Horsemen are reminded that the barn area will open at 8 a.m. on July 15 for tack and July 17 at 8 a.m. for the arrival of horses.
In addition to New York Sires Stakes racing and the $50,000 Robert J. Kane Memorial Invitational Pace, the Downs will host the Henry Tojj Pacing Series in October for horses that have started for $5,000 or less in 2012 and made at least one start at Batavia Downs. The final of the Henry Tojj is estimated at $27,000.
The pacing series is named after Henry Tojj, the popular pacer who won 18 races on the Western New York circuit for reinsman Al Mariacher in 1985.
The 2012 Summer-Fall meet at America’s oldest lightest harness track consists of 72 dates, 66 evening races with a new 6:25 p.m. post time and six matinees, including all four Sundays in August, with a 1:15 p.m. post time.
