Conway Hall breeding featured in New Vocations fundraiser

by Dot Morgan, New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program

Laura, OH — New Vocations’ ninth annual stallion and merchandise auction will be held in conjunction with the Winter Blooded Horse Sale on February 12 and 13.

Featured items offered in a silent auction format include a custom painted Blackjack Sheriff, a week for six on Marco Island, and four nights at the Rio Suites in Las Vegas, including airfare and show tickets for two.

“We deeply appreciate Pennsbury and Craig Stein’s generous donation of the race bike,” said Executive Director Dot Morgan, “as well as Mary Johnson’s beachfront condo, and Augie Blevins’ Vegas package. These items really enhance our fundraiser that also offers beautifully framed racing art, equine wall hangings and centerpieces, tack, jewelry, memorabilia, and much more. Weather permitting there will even be a paint pony.”

The stallion auction portion of the fundraiser is currently in progress at www.ongait.com with 84 stallions from 11 states and Canada offered. “This is the last opportunity to purchase a Conway Hall breeding,” Morgan said. “I can’t thank Walnut Hall Ltd. enough for this generous donation. Conway Hall’s book has been closed for months.”

Both auctions conclude Tuesday, February 13, at 2:00 p.m. For those unable to attend the sale, bids for breedings and merchandise may be called into the New Vocations office at (937) 947-4020 through Saturday, February 10.

“New Vocations leads the nation in racehorse adoptions, having placed 331 horses in carefully screened and monitored homes in 2006,” said Morgan. “This is our most important fundraiser of the year and the very lifeline of the Program. We’re extremely grateful to all the stallion owners, breeders, trainers, concessionaires, and other individuals that support this event.”
