COSA advisory regarding Ontario medication rule change

Campbellville, ON — The Central Ontario Standardbred Assocation (COSA) advises horsemen in Ontario of their continued work with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and the Woodbine Entertainment Group to mitigate and understand the protocols for the impending AGCO race-day medication ban.

As a result of a coordinated effort, the AGCO has advised they are relaxing the original rule with respect to veterinarians entering the stalls of horses schedule to race on a given day. Veterinarians will be allowed into stalls for examination, but race-day treatment and medication remain prohibited.
