Dark Dutchess and Embrace The Grind take DSBF eliminations

Harrington, DE – Carol Jamieson Parker’s Dark Dutchess ($2.40) and Andrew Glassmeyer’s Embrace The Grind ($2.20) were the victors in the 3-year-old filly Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund $20,000 eliminations Wednesday (June 19).

Dark Duchess, a He’s Spooky filly, overcame an early break near the quarter-pole and recovered to make the lead approaching the half-mile marker. After that, she he would never relent in her victory over Miss Popeye and Bella’s Party Punk.

Embrace The Grind was victorious in 2:01 over Just As Striking and Rich N Royal. The Keystone Activator gelding has won 10 of 13 career starts for Glassmeyer, his owner/trainer.

The top eight point earners from the three-year-old DSBF events will return to compete in $100,000 finals on Thursday (July 25).

Allan Davis won four races, while Jon Roberts scored the hat trick. Ross Wolfenden and Montrell Teague each had a double on the day.
