Dave Brower joining Red Mile Grand Circuit team

Lexington, KY — There will be a new but familiar face at The Red Mile’s two-week Grand Circuit meet that begins Thursday (Sept. 26) and runs through Sunday (Oct. 6). Dave Brower, handicapper, broadcaster and oddsmaker at The Meadowlands, will be joining track announcer Gabe Prewitt in providing race analysis and commentary for all eight afternoons of racing that includes several major stakes, culminating in the Kentucky Futurity for 3-year-old colt trotters on the closing day program.

“I’m super excited to be heading to Lexington this fall to cover the Grand Circuit meet at the famed Red Mile,” Brower told harnessracing.com on Monday afternoon (July 15). “For most of us in the business there is no better place to be during that two weeks, and the chance to contribute to the wonderful team out there is an added bonus. I look forward to matching wits with colleague and announcer Gabe Prewitt on the handicapping end, and to interviewing drivers, owners, trainers, breeders and sponsors during each racing day.”

Brower, who also serves as the longtime co-host of the CBS Sports Network’s coverage of the Hambletonian, will head to The Red Mile following his anchoring of the simulcast coverage of Little Brown Jug week at Delaware, Ohio.

“The Red Mile is very excited to add the services of Dave Brower to our 2019 Grand Circuit production team,” said Red Mile president and CEO Joe Costa. “Dave, through his extensive work with the Meadowlands, is well known to Standardbred racing fans across the nation. We anticipate another Grand Circuit filled with interesting storylines and world-record racing. Dave’s perspective will add to the Lexington experience as well as offering a front-row seat to a national simulcasting audience.”

Brower said he is anxiously looking forward to working at the historic racetrack in Lexington, Ky.

“No doubt it will be a challenge, but one that I very much look forward to,” said Brower. “My thanks to (Red Mile co-owner) George Segal and Joe Costa for allowing me this wonderful opportunity to showcase The Red Mile’s world class racing and harness racing’s superstars in the best light possible.”
