Columbus, OH — Del Pletcher, 89, died Aug. 15, 2019.

He was born on April 17, 1930, in Shipshewana, Ind., to Lester and Irma (Weirich) Pletcher.

Mr. Pletcher was a Standardbred owner, trainer and driver. His career spanned eight decades at racetracks throughout the Midwest.

He was a member of the United States Trotting Association and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his daughter, Dawn (Clayton) Pick; son, Darcy R.; granddaughter, Jorianne (Pat) Numbers; and special companion, Karen Oesch, her children, and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dwayne and Donald; and his children’s mother, Phoebe.

There will be no services.
