Delaware Standardbred Breeders’ Fund starts with pacing 2-year-old colts & geldings

Dover, DE – On a very warm November evening at Dover Downs the Delaware Standardbred Breeders’ Fund series for 2-year olds started Monday (Nov. 9) with three divisions of pacing colts and geldings.

The early non-wagering event went to a two time winner from Harrington, Z’s Dream (Dream Away-Eastwood Aurora N) taking a new lifetime mark of 1:55.3 by a quarter-length over Harrington final winner, Subban and Alwaysinyourdreams. The winner is trained by Andrew Stafford and driven by his brother, Art Stafford, Jr for owner Leonard Hubbard of Cambridge, MD.

The first half of the double went to the Clyde Francis owned and trained, Henrico (Delmarvalous-Blue Moon Artist) and co-owner/driver Montrell Teague in 1:56.1 equaling his lifetime record. Mister Ramsey was second followed by Mr Overbite in third. The winner was bred by William F. Moffet,Inc.

The third division of the evening went to Marvelous Winner (Delmarvalous-Rusty’s Winning) and driver Eddie Davis, Jr. in a new lifetime mark of 1:56.1 for trainer,owner, and breeder, Bobby Myers of Greenwood. Justflirtingwithu was second followed by Dollar Bill Startt for show.

The 2-year old trotters race tomorrow (Nov. 10) night. Post Time at Dover Downs is 4:30 p.m.
