DerbyWars.com will host a free WHHC qualifier on Friday (Jan. 31), with the winner receiving a free entry to the $150,000 World Harness Handicapping Championship at The Meadowlands on April 18.

The World Harness Handicapping Championship is estimated at $150,000 with a $40,000 first prize, with final prizes based on total entries and 100 percent of entries going to player prizes and bankrolls. Players can qualify online at DerbyWars.com.

The free WHHC qualifier offers $1,600 in total prizes. The winner receives a $1,300 entry to the WHHC, and the next 10 spots win a $29 entry to a future WHHC Round 1 qualifier. The contest will consist of Meadowlands races 1-7. The format is a mythical $2 Win-Place-Show contest, where players will pick one horse in each race over the seven races and earn payouts equivalent to $2 Win-Place-Show payouts at the track, subject to maximum payouts.

The $1,300 WHHC entry includes a $300 live bankroll with $1,000 to the prize pool and zero takeout. There is a limit of three entries per person. The prize pool of $150,000 is based on 150 entries.
