Devaux wins five at Monticello

Monticello, NY — On a wet and gray Monday (Dec. 17) afternoon at Monticello Raceway, James Devaux won five of the card’s 10 races.

The banner day didn’t start until midway through the card in race five, where Princess Katie (2:02.4 – $2.10) was his first winner of the afternoon. Devaux then proceeded to win the next three races in a row, with Faithful Friend (2:01.1 – $8.50), Norma Rei (1:59.4 – $3.30) and Rosy Outlook (1:57.4 – $10.40) Devaux just missed notching his sixth win of the day, losing by a neck in the race nine.

He won the last race of the day with Sandy Hook Hanover (2:00.4 – $20.40) for trainer Chad Washington. Devaux, a former two-time dash-winning champion at Monticello Raceway, is currently ranked fourth in the Monticello driving colony with 197 wins.
