DSBF trotters complete second leg

Harrington, DE – The second leg of Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) 3-year-old stakes action for trotters headlined the Wednesday (June 23) program at Harrington Raceway with five $20,000 divisions.

The fastest divisional winner was Bobby Myers’ Big Al M ($2.10, Eddie Davis Jr.), who was a 1:59.1 winner for trainer Eric Davis. It was the 8th win in 10 lifetime starts for the son of Anders Bluestone. After a quarter-pole move to the front, Big Al M held off all comers for his 7th straight win over Bluestone Jackson and Fox Briar Spooky.

Don and David Wiest’s Rhett ($2.60, Corey Callahan) won the other male division in 2:00.4 over Vlahos and Blue Devil. The Keystone Activator gelding recorded his fifth career win for trainer and co-owner Don Wiest.

The fastest filly divisional winner was Gary White’s ($4.20, David Hill III), who cruised to a 2:00 win over Kim’s Command and She’s On Broadway. The Anders Bluestone filly won her second straight race via a front end score from post position five for owner and trainer White.

Pam Wagner and Scott Woogen’s KJ Diamond ($3.20, Vic Kirby) completed a sweep of her DSBF eliminations with a 2:01.2 win in the first filly division over Designer’s Edge and Azurine. The Keystone Activator gelding scored her 3rd lifetime win via a first over brush for trainer and driver Kirby.

Rod Allen’s Annalee ($25.40, Allen) scored an upset in the remaining filly division with a wire-to-wire triumph in 2:02.2 over Blue Green Machine and Jazzy Judy. The CR Commando filly earned her first career win.

Montrell Teague had a driving triple. Victor Kirby and Allan Davis each had two wins.

The $100,000 DSBF finals will be contested on Tuesday, July 29.
