Emotional Wreck captures distaff Future Stars final at Running Aces

Columbus, MN — Five horses finished less than a length apart in the $8,000 championship final of the distaff Future Stars Series on Wednesday night (July 18) at Running Aces.

Emotional Wreck zoomed up the passing lane to win the $8,000 final of the distaff Future Stars Series on Wednesday night.

Driver Lemoyne Svendsen used the passing lane to utmost advantage to guide Emotional Wreck to a half-length victory following a thrilling stretch drive between the top five finishers. Wolfswinkel Pacers Inc. own the sophomore daughter of Four Starzzzz Shark who completed the mile in 1:57.4 and paid $24.60 to win.

After examining the photo finish picture, the judges posted Gift Of Honor second, Sammie’s Hula third and announced a dead heat between Rally To Win and Young American for fourth.

In a co-featured $9,400 Open Trot, Shelby County (Rocky Stidham) returned to her winning ways with a 1:58.2 score over Franky Provolone (Steve Wiseman) and Barbazon (Joey Mapes). Ben Kenney owns the winning 5-year-old mare who notched her 10th seasonal win, four of them coming at Running Aces.

Greenback (Craig Banks) captured a $5,500 Minnesota-sired trot for older horses, beating Nearly Rich (Nick Roland) and D D’s Tiger (Brandon Jenson) in 1:59.2. Harvard Sandbulte owns the victorious 4-year-old gelding.
