Face Time Bourbon marches on in France

Face Time Bourbon, the best 4-year-old in France and maybe best 4-year-old in Europe, posted a very easy victory at Vincennes on Tuesday (Sept. 24) in one of two eliminations for the European Trotting Derby, the Grand Prix de l’UET, the final to be raced at Vermo, Helsinki on Saturday (Oct. 12).

Face Time Bourbon won very easily in the 1-5/16 mile race in 1:53.4 (mile rate). Gerard Forni photo.

Björn Goop was in the sulky behind the brown trotter, who was in command the whole trip and won very easily in the 1-5/16 mile race in 1:53.4 (mile rate) followed by Frisbee d’Am and Lover Boy.

Face Tim Bourbon, who is sired by Ready Cash and out of a mare sired by Love You (Ready Cash/Love You mare is the new golden gross in France) has now raced 18 times and has 15 wins and two seconds and earnings of $805,000.

While Face Time Bourbon raced under sunny conditions it rained cats and dogs when German-bred Mister F Daag with Robin Bakker won the other elimination in 1:56.2 (mile rate) followed by Florida Sport and Follow You.

Mister F Daag, who last year won the German Trotting Derby, is sired by Conway Hall, who is also the sire of third-placed Lover Boy (Belgium bred) in the Face Time Bourbon race.
