Northfield, OH — County fair racing meets pari-mutuel track excitement Saturday, July 25, when Northfield Park hosts the Summit County Fair Sweepstakes. Over $107,000 in purses are up for grabs on the 14-race card, which starts at 7 p.m. (EDT). In addition to 12 stakes races, there is one overnight and a $3,500 Billings Amateur Series heat.

While most of the Summit Sweepstakes split into two divisions, the 2-year-old filly trot features eight starters in a single $15,200 dash for the cash in the fourth race, and the 2-year-old colt and gelding pacers go after $13,100 in the 10th race. Among the drivers scheduled to ship in from other tracks Saturday are Chip Noble, Jim Dailey, Chris Page and Duke Sugg.

The top equine competitors Saturday include 3-year-old filly trotter Mocha Jo, a winner of 10 of 15 career starts for Patricia Davis and trainer-driver Chip Noble in the third race; freshman filly Shez Good Osborne, who is a sister to three Ohio Sires Stakes champions, in the fifth; and $100,000 winner Rose Run Keepsake in the sixth race, a $6,150 3-year-old filly trot split.
