Family Feud: Daughertys best, Daughertrys again in Meadows top trot

Washington, PA – For the second straight week, the exacta in the $17,600 Open Handicap Trot at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows on Friday (May 13) was an all-Daugherty affair. Keystone Chaos, trained by Jim Daugherty for Michele Daugherty, defeated Rising MVP, who is conditioned by Jim’s dad, Bill Daugherty, Jr., for Susan Daugherty — the same result as last week’s family feud.

Keystone Chaos and Brian Zendt secured the front with an extended uncovered move that carried them past the leader, Icanflylikeanangel, with Rising MVP and Ridge Warren right on the new leader’s bumper. But Keystone Chaos remained strong through the wire and prevailed by 1/2 length in 1:54.1. Joey completed the ticket.

A 5-year-old Andover Hall-Keystone Cola gelding, Keystone Chaos lifted his lifetime bankroll to $131,454.

Dave Palone and Warren each enjoyed a double on the 10-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Saturday (May 14) when the 10-race program features a pair of carryovers — $7,562.08 in the final-race Super Hi-5, $1,983.97 in the Jackpot Pick 5 (race four). First post is 12:45 p.m.
