First Responders Day and matinee racing at Historic Track

Goshen, NY — On Sunday (June 16), Goshen Historic Track will be hosting two family-fun events.

Starting at 11:30 a.m., open to the public, the famous track will celebrate the service of the men and women who keep our communities safe and secure, offering comfort and aid 24/7, regardless of the time of day, weather or emergency. A highlight will be a First Responders exhibition race with department heads facing off in a horse race.

Plus there will be live music, barbecue style food, face painting, raffles, ice cream, bouncy house, kids safe program, multiple state police demonstrations, a SWAT demonstration and more.

Admission is free. Bring your Dad as it’ll be Father’s Day.

The track is proud to honor New York State Troopers, Orange County Sheriffs, the Orange County Volunteer Fire Police Association, Orange County Emergency Services, the Goshen Police, Goshen Fire and Goshen EMS.

There will also be matinee harness racing. Post time is at 1 p.m. Admission is free.

Be a part of the action as the historic track’s 109th racing season kicks off on its beautiful oval track. It’s always fun for the entire family. Cheer for your favorite horse and driver. Established in 1838, the Goshen Historic Track is the oldest active harness racing track in the world. It is the pride of Orange County and is universally celebrated as “The Cradle of the Trotter.”
