Future Spin pulls off 29-1 shocker in Meadows feature

Washington, PA –  Shuffled to seventh at the half, Future Spin threaded her way through horses in the lane to pull off the 25-1 shocker in Wednesday (August 14) feature at The Meadows, an $11,800 filly and mare conditioned pace.

Future Spin had plenty of late pace, but Jason Merriman had to find a seam for the 4-year-old daughter of Artiscape-Buy In Hanover. When he did, Future Spin burst through to score in 1:55, a head better than Sewonandsewforth, who was parked the mile. An Original Dragon finished third.

Dan Walski trains Future Spin, who won for the first time in 15 starts this year, for Walski Stables LLC.

Live racing at The Meadows resumes Saturday (August 17) when the card features a pair of events for freshman colt and gelding trotters: a $186,016 Pennsylvania Sires Stake and an $80,000 PA Stallion Series event. On the wagering front, the program will offer a $1,319.68 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 1:05 PM.
