Greg Luther wins GLADA Trot at the Darke County Fair

Greenville, OH — A strong race card was presented at the Darke County Fair in Greenville, Ohio, on Thursday (Aug. 26) and among the events contested was a GLADA trot which was won by Greg Luther.

In his contest, after trailing to the half, Luther rallied Fanatic to a half-length victory in 2:00.2 over Ss Tys Aflyin who was driven by Jasmin Arnold.

Sent away as the 4-5 favorite, Luther was content to sit back off the quick early pace set by Sultan Of Cash (Michelle Caldwell) who led the competition by the quarter in :29.3 and the half in :59. But when the short five-horse field approached the three-quarters, Luther had Fanatic out and winging and the two trotters were heads apart as they passed the third stanza in 1:30.1.

But when they straightened for home, Fanatic opened up a length lead which was needed to rebuff a late charge by Ss Tys Aflyin, who came out on the short end of the photo. Angels Ransom garnered the show dough for Randy Ehrhardt.

Fanatic, a 5-year-old Cantab Hall gelding, is owned by Black Magic Racing and trained by Todd Luther. He paid $3.60 to win.
