Hanover, PA — The management of Hanover Shoe Farms is delighted to announce that the farm has recently purchased eight of the top matrons in the business. The elite group consists of four trotting broodmares and four pacing broodmares.
The trotting mares are comprised of:
Passageway (Angus Hall-Glide Path): already the dam of the co-fastest 2-year-old trotter of 2018, Don’t Let’em 2,1:51.4, Passageway was sold with her 2019 Father Patrick filly by her side and will be bred back to Father Patrick in 2019.
Possess The Magic (Self Possessed–Chorine Hanover): a million dollar winner herself and the dam of the very good Master Of Law, Possess The Magic has been bred to Muscle Mass in 2019.
Secret Magic (Cantab Hall–Chorine Hanover): from three foals of racing age, she is the dam of In Secret 1:52.3f ($683,757) and the 2018 Hambletonian Oaks winner Manchego 3,1:50 ($1,537,942). Secret Magic is in foal to Muscle Hill, carrying a full brother or sister to Manchego, and will be bred back to Muscle Hill in 2019.
The pacing mares are as follows:
American Jewel (American Ideal–Trim Hanover): world champion with a record of 1:48.2 as a 3-year-old and career earnings of $1,840,565, American Jewel was the O’Brien 2-year-old pacing filly of the year in 2011 and the Dan Patch and O’Brien 3-year-old pacing filly of the year in 2012. She has been bred to the great Captaintreacherous in 2019.
Fresh Idea (Western Hanover–Last Night): dam of 2017 O’Brien Award 3-year-old pacing filly of the year Bettor’s Up p,3,1:49.4s ($762,344), she has also been bred to the sensational Captaintreacherous in 2019.
Perfect Touch (Camluck-Sounds Perfect): dam of American History p,3,1:47, she has been bred to American Ideal in 2019 with the resulting foal being a full brother or sister to American History.
