Harrington Raceway’s 73rd season opens Monday

Harrington, DE — Harrington Raceway’s 73rd season of live harness racing opens Monday (April 15) with a 12-race program and a new 4:30 p.m. nightly post time.

Racing will be conducted on a Monday through Wednesday schedule until the break on June 26.

The opening day feature is a $15,000 Delaware Special for pacers, featuring claimer extraordinaire William Sartin’s Always The Sun (3-1, Allan Davis), who was runner-up for horse of the meet honors at Dover Downs after a stellar campaign in which he won his last three races in succession and 10 total at the meet.

He will start from post two in a stout field of six that also includes morning line favorite Q’s Cruise (5-2, Ross Wolfenden) for owner Jo Ann Looney-King, who recently won in a high-level conditioned event at Yonkers Raceway.

The wagering format features a 50-cent based Pick-4 in races three through six and also the last four races on the program (nine-12). Superfecta wagering is available in the even-numbered races.
