Hennessey gets grand slam at Tioga

Nichols, NY — Wally Hennessey drove four winners on the eight-race card at Tioga Downs on Friday (May 20).

Hennessey reached the winner’s circle with Gimme Some Luvin ($4.30), Crystal Sparkles N ($2.40), Anchors Away ($2.30) and Elegant Noelle ($4.20). Mike Merton drove three winners on the card: Cheers For Chips ($2.80), Show Me The Magic ($9.30) and I Am Winning ($5.90). Kevin Reynolds Jr. and Patti Harmon each had training doubles.

DW’s Revenge (Leon Cable) cruised to an easy win in the featured $6,500 STHHA Amateur Club race.

Better Call Saul (Lee Morris) got the first call. but DW’s Revenge ($3.60) went on by and led to the first quarter in :27.3 He used a :28.4 second quarter to be first to the half in :56.2. He breezed to three-quarters in 1:26. As they made the turn for home, DW’s Revenge found himself in another ZIP code, winning on cruise control in 1:56.4. Pistols Aspiration (Stacey McLenghan) was second best. Bloodstockshalltab (Joe Skowyra) finished third.

DW’s Revenge is an 8-year-old gelding by Archangel trained by Cable for owner David Jarvis. It was his second win this season. He now has 31 career victories.
