Anderson, IN — With a carryover in excess of $14,000, Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino has announced a $40,000 guaranteed Hoosier High-5 pool for Friday (May 17). In partnership with the United States Trotting Association Strategic Wagering program and the Indiana Standardbred Association, Harrah’s Hoosier Park will offer this signature wager for the action packed 14-race card on Friday that is set to begin at 6:30 p.m.

After heavy rain in the area produced a sloppy racing surface, Thursday’s 14-race card saw a number of longshots finding the winner’s circle, including Rock Solid Image and Brandon Bates who found the wire first and paid $26.80 to win in the last race of the program.

In conjunction with the guaranteed wager, Friday’s 14-race card will be highlighted by two divisions of the Hal Dale Pacing Series and a $20,000 Open Pace. The Open Pace, slated as the 12th race on the program, has drawn a talented field of eight and will feature a stellar match-up between Indiana’s 2018 Pacer of the Year, Always A Prince and last week’s Open Pace winner, Fan Of Terror.

Always A Prince, who most recently finished third in a leg of The Graduate Series at The Meadowlands, returns to Harrah’s Hoosier Park and has been enlisted as the morning line favorite at odds of 5-2 from post seven with Trace Tetrick in the bike for trainer Tyler George. After equaling the fastest mile of the season and establishing a new lifetime best of 1:49.3 at the age of seven last week, Fan Of Terror is in the midst of a banner year and will look to record the third win in his last four starts at the Open level from post eight for trainer Peter Redder. Fan Of Terror has been installed at 9-2 on the morning line.

Friday’s 14-race card will also include local fan favorite, world champion Freaky Feet Pete, who is set to make his fourth start of the year after a dominant 1:50.4 score at Hoosier Park last week. Trace Tetrick will steer the career winner of $1.5 million from post seven in race 14 for trainer Marty Rheinheimer.

The Hoosier High-5, also known as the pentafecta, is featured in the last race of every program at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. Featuring a reduced takeout of 12 percent, the Hoosier High-5 offers remarkable value to horseplayers. Just 31 days into the 2019 season, the Hoosier High-5 has twice returned a ticket paying $14,000.
