Ilana Z Tam, Consus Victory in Philly Friday features

Chester, PA – A pair of $16,000 featured events on the Friday (Sept. 27) afternoon card at Harrah’s Philadelphia saw Ilana Z Tam take a lifetime mark of 1:52 in the contest for pacing mares and Consus Victory earn a new 1:55.1 speed badge in a trotting race.

The Bettor’s Delight mare Ilana Z Tam was away third behind Odds On Clearwater and favored Tarryn A Strip, and with no outside tier advancing the winner could wait inside until late in the backstretch to go after the leader. Ilana Z Tam quickly made the front on the far turn, with Tarryn A Strip backing out to follow her, but she could not catch winner in the lane, coming up two lengths short. Trainer/driver Pat Lachance also co-owns the victorious distaff with Z Tam Stables LLC.

Vinnie Ginsburg settled the Cantab Hall sophomore colt Consus Victory in the two-hole behind Blue And Bold, then had clearance to move out near headstretch, and the three-year-old took it from there, drawing clear by four lengths over the pacesetter. Consus Victory is now two-for-two since teaming with Ginsburg for trainer Jonas Czernyson and Consus Racing Stable Inc.

George Napolitano Jr. continued with his winning ways on either end on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, posting five victories on the Friday Philly card. Napolitano has participated in 14 cards at Philly and Pocono over the last two weeks, and he has recorded 47 sulky successes during that period – 25 at Harrah’s Philadelphia and 22 at The Downs at Mohegan Sun.
