Isle Pompano Park teams up with Boys & Girls Clubs

Pompano Beach, FL — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County announced that they are teaming up with the Isle Casino Racing at Pompano Park to hold a special fund raising night on Saturday, September 26, entitled “Racing Night at the Isle.”

At a special sponsors/media cocktail reception, held at the Isle’s prestigious Farraddays Steak House on June 23, perspective event sponsors and the media were introduced to the various events that will be taking place on September 26.

“It is the hopes of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County to raise more than $50,000 on this night,” said Chadia Meroueh, President of the Pompano Beach Thomas D. Stephanis Unit. “We are excited that the Isle Pompano Park has joined with us in holding this special night. It is going to be a lot of fun for everyone.”

The purpose of the Boys & Girls Clubs is to help young people ages 7 to 18 improve their lives by building self-esteem and developing values and skills during their critical period of growth. Services and programs provided focus on everything from education, social recreation, health and physical education, to leadership and citizenship development, cultural enrichment, and personal adjustment with one-on-one counseling. The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs is to enable young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

The “Racing Night at the Isle” is being billed as a family-fun night with special events for everyone. The festivities take place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. throughout the casino and racetrack areas and will feature the following:

  • Live Music Trackside
  • Classic Car Show on trackside apron
  • VIP Cocktail Party inside casino with auctions
  • Advance sales county-wide 50/50 raffle with drawing that evening
  • Advance sales of discount ticket package for a hot dog, soda, chips, race program (ice cream for children) and a reserve seat trackside.
  • Free face painting, magicians and more for children
  • Local celebrity bounce horse race on the track
  • Live harness racing throughout the evening
  • Informational booth displays throughout facility
  • Live entertainment, poker and slot machines inside the casino

The county-wide 50/50 raffle drawing is estimated to be worth as much as $10,000 to the first place prize winner. There will also be additional auction items including a night of gambling for two package at the Isle Pompano Park that will include a stretch limo ride, dinner at Farraddays Steak House, $100 in betting money on the horse races, a horse race named in honor of the winner with a ride in the Hummer Starting Gate, $100 in free slot machine play and entry for two into a poker tournament. Other prizes connected with the auctions will be announced.

In case of inclement weather, a rain date of Saturday, October 3, has been set.
