It’s My Party, Frank Hanover capture Saratoga features

Saratoga Springs, NY — The two divisions of the co-featured races for New York sired trotters at Saratoga Casino Hotel saw very different results on Wednesday (Nov. 20) as a favorite and a longshot prevailed.

For the second consecutive week, trainer/driver John Stark Jr.’s It’s My Party dominated the competition. Melissa Simser-Iovino photo.

For the second consecutive week, trainer/driver John Stark Jr.’s It’s My Party (Chapter Seven) dominated the competition and rolled to a convincing win in her $10,700 race.

It’s My Party went wire-to-wire for the second straight Wednesday afternoon and did it this week in 1:57.3 over a track labeled ‘good.’ The win was the sixth of the season for the 3-year-old trotting filly and the third in her last four starts.

The even money favorite in her division of the co-featured races, It’s My Party never suffered an anxious moment before reporting home a 1-1/2 length winner over Royal Casanova.

The other division went for a purse of $10,000 and was won in upset fashion after a disqualification resulted in Frank Hanover (Credit Winner) securing his fifth victory of the season.

Vernon Downs invader Give Angel Credit hit the wire first but had interfered with a rival in the stretch before being disqualified and subsequently being placed third.

Trainer Bob Gale’s Frank Hanover had Frank Coppola Jr. piloting for the first time as he was placed first at odds of 28-1. In the mile clocked in 2:01.2, Frank Hanover paid $58.50 to win.

Live racing continues on Thursday afternoon at Saratoga with a first post time set for Noon.
