He was born February 28, 1933, in Laconia, IN, to Kenneth & Daisy Timberlake Beanblossom, at the same home that he would later share with his wife and raise his family in.

Jim retired from Motor Convoy in 1991, where he was a truck driver.  He was also a farmer, fertilizer dealer and he proudly served his community by driving a dump truck.

He was a lifelong fan of harness racing and a member of the U. S. Trotting Association.  After buying his first horse in 1975, he would continue to train and drive horses for over 40 years, which was something he loved to share with his family.  He retired from driving in 2013 at the age of 80.  His best horse, Hoosier Favorite, set four track records during his racing career.  Jim was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing with his sons.  He was a member of the Lincoln Trail Antique Power of the Past tractor club in Brandenburg, KY.  He also loved attending Smith Campground United Methodist Church with his wife.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Mary Richards and Laura Withers, and a brother, Robert Beanblossom.

Survivors include his high school sweetheart and wife of 67 years, Anna Longacre Beanblossom, his four children, Shelia Beanblossom-Jackson (Doug) of Laconia, Steve Beanblossom (Yvonne) of Laconia, Sherry Shaffer (Jeff) of Elizabeth, Indiana and David Beanblossom (Lisa) of Laconia.  His grandchildren and great grandchildren, Stephanie Sanders (Chris), Bryce & Brady Dawson; Jeremy Pate (Andrea) & Deegan; Kimberly Jones (Chris), Waylon, Lucas, Esdon & Bennett; Michele Manter (Josh); Jeffery Shaffer (Amy), Alex, Brandt, Ty & Jaxon; Sheldon Shaffer (Gina), Lillian, Rhett & Henry; Kristin Blackman (Craig) & Porter; Nicole Beanblossom & Owen Kurtz.  His sisters, Jean Christian of Sebring, Florida, JoAnn Fox of Leesburg, Florida & Barbara Kaye Sherman (Ralph) of Laconia.

We are so thankful for all of the prayers, cards and visits.  He is now at peace and resides with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday (June 16), at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Rev. Greg Carter and Rev. Charles Pelc will officiate.  Burial will be in Old Goshen Cemetery near Laconia.

Visitation will be from noon – 8 p.m. Saturday (June 15) and after 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Pate, Jeffery and Sheldon Shaffer, Bryce and Brady Dawson and Alex Shaffer.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Norton Children’s Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
