Janelle Diane Miller, 19, dies

Shipshewana, MI – Diane Miller, 19, of Shipshewana, died on Tuesday evening (Aug. 13) at Long Lake, Union, MI from an apparent drowning.

She was born on Dec. 27, 1999 in Topeka to Wayne R. and Karen Sue (Yoder) Miller. Survivors in addition to her parents are four brothers, LeWayne (special friend Susan) Miller of Anderson, Daryl (Kathy) Miller of Shipshewana, Dale (special friend Kristin) Miller of Nappanee, Devon Miller of Shipshewana; three nieces, Hailey Miller, Marisa Miller, Breanna Miller; nephew, Braxton Miller; two grandmothers, Katie Yoder of Shipshewana, Katie Miller of Goshen. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Harley Yoder and Noah Miller. Janelle was working in housecleaning for the Farmstead Inn & Conference Center, Shipshewana and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. on Friday (Aug. 16) and all day Saturday (Aug. 17) at the family’s residence, 3695 N. 850 W. Shipshewana.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday (Aug. 18) at the John Mark Yoder residence, 3555 N. 850 W. Shipshewana. Services will be conducted by Bishop Jerry Miller and the home ministers. Burial will be in East Barren Cemetery, Shipshewana. Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury is in charge of arrangements.
