Kirby wins five at Dover

Dover, DE — Vic Kirby began a five-win night by steering Luv Is Blind to a 2:00.3 victory in a $20,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund race for 2-year-old filly trotters, one of three winners he drove for owner-trainerLeigh Raymer.


Later, Glenferrie Dreamer got only one call, the last one, whenPat Berry closed with a rush to the winner’s circle for his third victory inhis last four starts in the $20,000 Open Handicap on Wednesday (Nov. 9) at DoverDowns.

Tough Mac, in his first start after winning threequalifiers, led through most of the mile before a convoy of rivals came on stronglyapproaching the finish line. Pat Berry was among them, driving Glenferrie Dreamer,a gelding trained by Traci Berry for owners JCraparotta & PBerry Racing,

Montrell Teague moved Bluebird Reverend out of fifth in thestretch and the Indiana-bred hard-hitting gelding powered past a foursome offast-finishing trotters to score a 1:55.2 triumph in a $15,500 Winners-Overtrot. Starting from post nine in the second tier the Swan For All-LittleRevenue 4-year-old won for the fifth time this season extending his seasonalearnings to $87,580 and $392,360 lifetime. Steel Reserve (Kirby) finishedsecond with Tymal Signature (Berry) the show horse.

Vic Kirby posted his fourth winning drive guiding War CryHall to his sixth 2016 victory for RBH Ventures in a $12,000 trot. Jim Kingconditions the Cash Hall-Winners Only gelding who now has won $82,851 thisseason. A 32-race career winner, the 7-year-old has banked $555,551 lifetime.Winbak Vhsltrd M (Yanick Gingras) was runner-up. Enrico AS (Jonathan Roberts) wasnext.
