Kirby wins four at Rosecroft

Ft. Washingtin, MD — Victor Kirby highlighted a great Sunday night (Sept. 27) show at Rosecroft by securing four wins on the 15-race card.

Kirby won a $10,700 Maryland Sires Stakes division with BT’s Breeze for Bryan Truitt Jr. and trainer Bryan Truitt, stopping the timer in 1:53.3 as he edged out sires stakes rival Allie’s Finale in an eye pooping :54.3 back half. The Son of Nuclear Breeze picked up his 14th career win.

Kirby took wins with Bo Knows for Bryan Truitt Jr. and John Dixon; Dixon’s Cole On The Beach; and won the finale with B A Rocket, boldly splitting rivals in deep stretch to win for trainer Greg Trotto, Fred Sporrer, Jon Reedy and VIP Internet Stable.

Perennial dash champion Frank Milby is off to a strong start with six wins in the first two nights of the fall meet. Milby won Sunday with Cool Casper for Jody Cahall and it was the first of two wins for trainer Trevor Stafford as Milby won with Dance On The Beach for his barn as well. Star Messenger made Milby a winner for owner-trainer Gary Ewing.

John Wagner won three races on the night, including a $10,700 Maryland Sires Stakes win for Lloyd’s All In. The son of Rusty’s All In handled his rivals from the far outside, wiring the field in 1:55 for Pamela Wagner and trainer Arlene Cameron.

Wagner notched a pair of wins for owner-trainer Courtney Brooks, setting new lifetime bests for Redwood Again (1:53.1) and Precision Bluechip (1:52.1) who upset Rosecroft powerhouse Romantic Interest in the process.

Eddie Davis Jr., piloted two winners, among them the popular Winbak Carl, bred by Winbak Farm in Maryland. The 11-year-old son of Royal Mattjesty won for the 40th time in his career. Eric Davis conditions the veteran pacer for Susan Baker. Davis Jr. also woke up Commander Hill who had been struggling at Harrah’s Philadelphia over the past two months, winning in 1:52.2 for trainer Eric Ell and Tribbett Racing.

Allan Davis took on two claimers, rallying Ok Galahad from last to first, edging claiming king Foxland in 1:54.4 in the best betting race of the night. Foxland was the favorite as just over 4-1. Brittany Bounds owns and trains Ok Galahad who returned $12.80 to win.

Jason Thompson won the pari-mutuel puzzler of the night, as Bullvilleblast scored for owner-trainer Brian Tomlinson. The winner was 7-2 on the morning line but dismissed at 17-1 and paired with Brock N Brian, equally dismissed off a 3-1 morning line at 10-1, for a $251 exacta.

Jonathan Roberts took high speed honors for the night, gunning nicely from an outside post to steer Prince Clyde home in 1:52 for owner-trainer Richard Malone Jr.

Rosecroft has another 15-race card on Wednesday night and has moved post time up to 6:55 p.m. (EDT).
