Krivelin wins GSY Series race at Monticello Raceway

Monticello, NY — The GSY Series took a detour to upstate New York for a Monday (Nov. 4) matinee race around the Monticello half-mile oval.

As the seven pacers left the starting gate, Robert Krivelin, who picked up the catch drive, sent All About Rusty to the lead just after the quarter pole and was able to sustain this lead all the way to the finish.

As the field headed to the half-mile stanza, there were three horses on the outer tier trying to close in on the leader but their efforts proved futile. Krivelin ended up winning the event by 1-1/2 lengths and Roy Marohn, driving longshot Mcard Attack, ended up second. Bettor Reason N, driven by Chad Washington, came from dead last to garner the show dough. The mile was timed in 1:59.

The winner, a 10-year-old gelding, is owned by Edward Hall and James Hall Jr. and is trained by Danny Gill.

The GSY takes center stage next Saturday at The Meadowlands and Monday at Monticello for the third leg of this series.
