Monticello, NY – As the compact field of five hit the half mile oval on Monday (Nov. 18) at Monticello, Dave Yarock aboard Sammy B Happy took the lead and tried to go wire to wire.  He held the lead until the top of the stretch but that is when the overwhelming favorite, Kenrick N, with Joe Lee in the bike, overtook the longtime leader who begrudgingly gave up the lead.  Lee was out since the half mile stanza and was able to grind first up and took the lead late enroute to a length victory.  Longshot Vaganova, with Christopher Doherty, scooted up the pylons to finish second and Yarock faded to third.  The mile went in 1:57.3. 

The seven-year-old gelding is out of Bettor’s Delight and is owned and trained by Thomas Milici.
