Logan County (OH) Fair recap

Bellefontaine, OH — The track was fast and the temperature was 86 degrees Tuesday night (July 7) with 12 races and 75 horses going to the gate at the Logan County Fair in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

There was a large crowd braving the sun as it beat down on them for most of the card. The OHHA came to the rescue with a great giveaway, fold up fans. They were a hit and everyone wanted one. Throughout the night fans played text trivia.

The first race was for 3-year-old filly pacers with six of them going to the post. Rose Run Ultimate cut the mile from start to finish to score in 2:01 and had a very fast blistering last quarter time in :27.3 for trainer/driver Ken Holiday and owner Black Magic Racing.

OHHA Past President John Konesky III won in 2:07.4 with a 2-year-old trotting filly named Cell Service.

The fan race was very fun, with a field of seven in the seventh race, a wide open 2-year-old filly pace captured by Perfect Artist in 2:04.4. The lady that won the fan race has been all over the country and overseas to tracks but had never been to the winner’s circle until Tuesday night. What an exciting evening for her.
