Washington, PA – The Meadows’ Monday (Sept. 13) card features exciting action on both the wagering and racing fronts, including an $18,626.48 carryover in the Super Hi-5 and a pair of Keystone Classics for 2-year-olds.

The Meadows offers the Super Hi-5 on the final race of each live program with a 20-cent minimum wager. Monday’s 13-race card also offers a $5,000 total-pool guarantee for the Early Pick 4 (race three). First post is 12:45 p.m.

Southwind Gendry winning an Aug. 29 PASS split at The Meadows is the 2-1 morning line favorite in a division of the Keystone Classic for 2-year-old colts & geldings Monday at The Meadows. Chris Gooden Photos.

Monday’s stakes kick off four straight programs of Keystone Classics with an $88,500 event for pacers and a $91,300 stake for trotters.  The headliner is undoubtedly Southwind Gendry, who on Sept. 5 came from mid-pack to capture the $250,000 Pennsylvania Sires Stake championship at Pocono. The Always B Miki-Gambler’s Passion gelding leaves from post six in race three with David Miller driving for trainer Ron Burke and owners Burke Racing Stable, Phillip Collura, Knox Services, and J&T Silva-Purnel&Libby.

The chief threat to Southwind Gendry may be Whichwaytothebeach, the PASS consolation winner. Marcus Miller will steer the Somebeachsomewhere-Swinging Beauty gelding from post one for trainer Roland Mallar and owners Alan Johnston and John Craig.
